Time travel – Concept, Theory and Analysis

Time Travel

Concept and misconception and theories

Time traveling is ancient human concept and many of us are hopeful to invent some device, through which one day it will be possible for a human, living thing or an object to travel through time/space and many of us believe that it is just impossible and is not more than a dream.

Physicist Albert Einstein states that time is an illusion; it is relative, it can vary for different observers depending on your speed through space.

While Einstein considers time as the “fourth dimension”.

It is hot topic of fiction and philosophy, in which a person using hypothetical device, also known as Time machine can travel from one place to another or a time/date to another date and time both in the past and future.

Many movies also surround around the time machine and time travel. Mr. Thomas Roman, the Co-Author of the “Time Travel and warp drives” states, it is impossible to ever travel in the past especially back date to the invention of Time machine (if ever invented) as time traveler will land into a time zone when machine was not even existing.

He also stated that, an event in this universe cannot happen and not happen at same, as shown in many movies. If one time-traveler travels back and changes timeline by killing his grandfather, his existence in the universe can’t be justified, also that same event can’t be repeated e.g. killing of grandfather and a normal death both cannot be validated, and neither same person can meet two different deaths.

Another possibility is that, time-traveler changes timeline and might end-up into another universe where things doesn’t go same direction as this universe he traveled from. And this whole topic is mind blogging.

Now question arises, if not past, can we travel to future? Many experts and scientists believe that since we all are travelling towards future already, thus it seems possible. If we reach the speed limit of 300,000 kilometres per second (or 186,000 miles per second) for anything that travels through space-time, and light always travels the speed limit through empty space and this is known as theory of relativity.

He states: Going to the future is no problem. A mechanism for traveling into the future is afforded by [Einstein’s] special theory of relativity.

Infinite cylinders, Black holes and Cosmic strings are other theories are alternative time-travel theories.
