DG ISPR Lauds Role, Unflinching Sacrifices Of IDPs

ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor on Wednesday lauded the role and unflinching sacrifices of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Saluting the people of FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and displaced persons during the war on terror in Pakistan, he said, “we will provide shelters, education, health and jobs to those people who sacrificed their houses and other things in war against terrorism.” This is the time of rehabilitation of IDPs who had to leave their permanent settlements for winning the war on terror, he added. The DG ISPR while commenting on the operations launched by Pakistan Armed Forces to wipe out terrorists from the soil, said Pakistan had achieved a great success in Shair Dil, Zarb-e-Azb, and Raddul Fasad operations. Appreciating the role of valiant Armed forces, he said security forces had made the war on terror “a success” for Pakistan. For the last two decades, we had to face challenges including fighting war against terrorism, General Asif Ghafoor stated. During the operation Raddul Fasad, the security forces had recovered 35,000 illegal ammunition from the terrorist elements. To a question, he said the new war would be the war on progress and development of Pakistan. We had to focus on education if we want to maintain peace in the country, he stated. To another question about Afghanistan, he said peace in Afghanistan was in the larger interest of Pakistan. Pakistan would continue efforts for establishing peace in Afghanistan, he added. In reply to a question about arch rival neighbouring country India, he said two wars had been fought with India. The Indian government had always fled from the negotiating table set by Pakistan for peace in the region, he said, adding India had been in a practice of using provocative language against Pakistan to win elections. The foreign office had expressed its reservations over the negative statement of the Indian premier, the DG ISPR said. We have repeatedly asked the neighbouring country for peace talks, he added. In reply to another question, he said Pakistan was fully capable to defend its territorial integrity. Pakistan Armed forces, he said, holds an impregnable ability to defeat arch rival India. Any misadventure by India would be given a befitting response, he added. To another question, he said Kalbushan Jadev’s case was in the international court of justice so no comments would be made on it. About change in Pakistan, he said election was the source of bringing change in the country. Political stability was imperative to take the country forward, he said, adding the Pak Armed forces had supported the democratic process effectively. Seven Cadet colleges were working in FATA , he informed, while nine were functioning in Balochistan. To another question, he said the Armed forces had a strong accountability system.
